COVID-19 Statement

COVID-19 UPDATE   3/20/2020

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, the doctors and staff of Delavan Lakes Veterinary Clinic (DLVC) will continue to update our policies accordingly. The health and safety and our staff, our community and our pets is our foremost priority.

DLVC is continuing to operate with normal business hours at this time. In an effort to further protect the health of our staff and clients, we will no longer be allowing clients inside the clinic, effective on Saturday, March 21 until further notice.

Pet visits:

When you arrive at the parking lot of the clinic for your scheduled appointment, please call 262-728-8622 and a veterinary technician will provide guidance for how to proceed with your appointment. Please make sure that you bring a proper leash or carrier for your pet that our staff can use to ensure safe transit of your pet, to and from your vehicle. Your pet will be brought into the clinic for evaluation by one of our doctors while you wait in your vehicle. Once the evaluation is complete, we will provide a thorough debrief of the evaluation and recommended next steps, and take care to answer any questions you may have. At that time, if a treatment plan is recommended, we will obtain your authorization prior to proceeding.

Prescription and pet food pick up:

Please call ahead for any prescription or pet food requests so that we can confirm availability and have it ready for pick-up. We will work with you to schedule an approximate time for pick-up on the date requested. When you arrive at the parking lot of the clinic, please call 262-728-8622 and we will deliver to your vehicle. We can collect payment via phone or while you are in your vehicle at the time of pick-up.

Other:

Drop-off appointments, boarding, and bathes are still available. Please call 262-728-8622 to schedule. When you arrive at the parking lot of the clinic for your scheduled drop-off/pick-up appointment or boarding drop-off/pick-up, please call and a staff member will come to your vehicle. Please make sure that you bring a proper leash or carrier for your pet that our staff can use to ensure safe transit of your pet, to and from your vehicle.

We will no longer have any open office hours on Sunday for patient pick up or prescription medication and food purchases for the foreseeable future.

If you are ill or have a fever, send your pet with a healthy individual. If you do not have a healthy individual to help accompany your pet to the clinic, please call so that we may assist you in having your pet evaluated.

Please call if you have any other requests or questions about your pet. We will do our best to meet your needs in a safe way. We appreciate your patience as we try to accommodate all of our clients’ and pets’ needs during this time.

We wish your family and pet’s safety and good health during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Dr. Christine Hartwig
Dr. Kevin Hartwig
Dr. Stacy Stengel

and our entire staff

COVID-19 UPDATE   03/17/2020

The doctors and staff of Delavan Lakes Veterinary Clinic (DLVC) continue to take the COVID-19 pandemic seriously. The health and safety of our staff, our community, and your pets is our foremost priority. We will continue to update our valued clients and community through social media, our website, and email as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves.

DLVC remains open with normal business hours at this time.

Here are some of the enhanced measures we are taking to increase health safety inside DLVC:
- Allowing for curbside evaluation of your pet outside of the clinic.  If your pet needs to be evaluated in the clinic, the client has the option of waiting in the car.
- Clients are welcome to wait in their vehicles until their pet is ready to be seen. Client and pet will be directed to a private exam room immediately as soon as one is available.
- We request that only one client accompanies each pet during the visit if possible.
- Hand sanitizers, soap, and sinks are available for client use.
- Frequent disinfection of entryway doors, reception area, common areas, and rest rooms.
- Thorough disinfection of all exam room surfaces, door handles, exam tables, and floors after each patient visit.
- Request all dogs be leashed when inside the clinic.
- Request that all cats and small animals be placed in appropriately-sized carriers when entering the clinic.

Helpful information to keep in mind:
- If you are ill or have a fever:
> Do not enter the clinic.
> Send your pet with a healthy individual. If you do not have a healthy individual to help accompany your pet to the clinic, please call so that we may assist you in having your pet evaluated.
- If you require a refill of a prescription, please call ahead so that prescriptions are ready when you arrive.
- We continue to offer drop-off options for your pet to be evaluated by our staff.
- During this time, please be patient. We are here to help. The health and wellbeing of you and your pet is our top priority.
- Following the above protocols and recommendations will increase our ability to continue to serve you and your pet as we all navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

See link below for current information from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) as it pertains to you and your pets.

Our doctors and staff will be available by email and phone to address any questions you have as it relates to COVID-19, or any other health concern you have as it pertains to your pet.

We wish your family and pet’s safety and good health during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

DLVC Doctors and Staff
