Introducing CYTOPOINT! A Breakthrough Treatment for Itchy Dogs

Does your canine companion show signs of excessive scratching, rolling, rubbing, scooting, licking, or biting? If so, your dog may be suffering from allergies. Even further, from atopic dermatitis – an inflammatory, chronic skin condition associated with canine allergies. Luckily, there’s a new, breakthrough treatment option for dogs called CYTOPOINT, which aids in the reduction of clinical signs of atopic dermatitis.

What is CYTOPOINT?

CYTOPOINT targets your dog’s itch at the source, resulting in less frequent scratching. Essentially, the antibodies in CYTOPOINT are designed to specifically attack one of the main proteins that send itch signals to your dog’s brain. This allows the skin time to heal the damage caused by atopic dermatitis.

How often does my dog need CYTOPOINT?

Your veterinarian administers this remarkable treatment by injection. A single injection has proven to help control itching and irritability of skin for 4-8 weeks. Studies have also shown CYTOPOINT starts to control itching within 1 day of treatment and keeps itching under control for a month or longer.

How do I know if the therapy is working?

Be sure to monitor your pet’s behavior, and look for signs that he/she is feeling relief. This often means less scratching, gnawing, rolling, etc. If you’re unsure whether the treatment is working, simply give us a call.

Is CYTOPOINT safe?

Studies have shown that dogs that received CYTOPOINT injections had no more side effects than those that received a placebo shot. Since CYTOPOINT is a biological therapy, it’s naturally broken down and recycled by the body – making it very safe.

Are there any other options that treat atopic dermatitis?

Of course – there is another fast-acting and safe treatment called APOQUEL. This medication may be given to your dog up to twice a day, although this may not be necessary. Results typically become noticeable within 4 hours of the first dose, and last up to 24 hours.
